I agree that tearing down first, sealing the engine, and then setting the record makes the most sense.
That is what we did in Las Vegas, and it worked out good. It actually was convenient that our first run was scheduled for 6:00 PM that day, and we started the tear down just before noon, and finished before race time.
That sure beats the rush we had to put on in Chicago (this one was not a record run, but it was a tear down between runs) and scurry like crazy to get things back together before we were scheduled to run again.
