Default Re: cobra jet showdown

some images with captions from the shootout....

Anthony Bongiovanni in the Micro Strategies Super Stocker against Bo Butner

New England's Carl Tasca and Gary Richards of PC Richards in qualifying

The Micro Strategies 3-valve against Agee's 2012 Super Cobra Jet.

a nice staging lanes shot of Cobra Jet's getting ready for round two of qualifying.

Bo Butner is the last car staged in his Jim Butner Auotomotive 2012 Cobra Jet. He blistered the track in his first qualifier with an 8.99et!

In the staging lanes Chris Agee in his 2010 Cobra Jet, and Ron Matchum in the Quality Blow Molding Cobra Jet get ready to start off the weekend's qualifying for the Cobra Jet Showdown.

Class sponsor Jacky Jones Ford has Fritz Hammerstein on hand with the last of their 2012 Cobra Jet's. These cars are becoming increasingly rare and with the performance we're seeing at the track I'm guessing this one won't last long.

another division one contender not to be trifled with, Gary Richards and his PC Richards Cobra Jet's are lined up ready to go. Gary is the sole driver this weekend and has elected to run his Tilburg Racing Engine's 428-powered 2010 Cobra Jet. Like the Micro Systems and Tasca car, the PC Richards team looks to B&B Racecars to tune up their suspension.

Carl Tasca's been getting ready for the sevens this weekend in competition by blasting of a 7.96et earlier this week. Carl is still getting the bugs worked out of his new B&B Racecars 4-link but if we're lucky we'll see another 7-second pass this weekend.

Here's the Hawk and Cook 428 in all it's glory.
