Default Re: Any Tips / Suggestions for 1st Nat Event

I had a very good experience at Charlotte last fall, if entries stay fairly low we'll probably be pitted on the PRO side which means on asphalt just like the fall race. For the Nationals I've attended tech was absolutely no problem provided you're by the rulebook (make sure your flywheel cert is current). The officials all seem very accommodating and reasonable and all of Bruton Smith's tracks have massive infrastructure (more security than a rock concert..) and Charlotte is by far the nicest track I've ever raced on. If you get there on Wednesday you might be in the holding area on the other side of the track (watch for signs on getting to it) and be prepared to stay overnight there if you get there very late. Last fall I arrived on the afternoon before qualifying and breezed right through, again; suspect that was a result of the low car counts. NHRA has your racer packet all ready for you based on your pre-entry and helps you find a spot unless somebody is saving you a place. Your overall wait times are going to depend on how much they are on time, any on track delays will result in a re-shuffle so the PRO show is not inconvenienced...heaven forbid.
