The key to any shipment is the packaging. Any assembled block must be securely bolted and/or strapped to a pallet of sufficient weight to handle the weight of the engine(300-500lbs). I have handle everything from junk core motors to blown alcohol pro-mod stuff and regardless of the value it must be packed to prevent movement. It's also a good idea to stretch wrap the entire package to prevent penetration by dust, water, grease, etc. It will be picked up and moved by forklift drivers at several terminals between origin/destination so make sure to keep that in mind.

Any engine or trans of less than 500lbs should be able to move for less than about $250 just about anywhere in the country. Please don't call unless you are willing to take responsibility for adequate packing.
I just used Mark's services at Lynn Traffic to get an engine block shipped to a machine shop. His customer service is top notch, prompt and knowledgeable in shipping engines and parts at a very competitive price. You will not be disappointed!

I highly recommend his services and you will be supporting a fellow Sportsman racer too.
