Johnny D was one of the biggest fans of SS&DI. I know he produces every issue with its memory in mind.

While it's true Peterson bought the remnants of SS&DI with the plan to "absorb" the title, it's important to remember SS&DI had been on its death bed for years prior to the sale. Monthly circulation never broke 6,000 in the '90s and those of us who were there for a while, ('77-'99 for me), often wondered why Guccione kept the thing alive past 1987.

It was a ton of work for very little return.
