I almost bought a 1995 Cobra Mustang drag radial car and turn it into a SS / GT car using the 2010 Cobra Jet 352 ( fuel injected 351W)
That car would have been legal for NMCA EFI Rumble as well. (dressed as a 95 Cobra R)

The other FI engine worth looking into is the 2010 Cobra Jet 3V 4.6 combo.
Basically any legal SS engine is legal in the GT class.

You will need to use the stock 89 front k-member and lower control arms, as well as springs in the contol arms.
Alot of those DR cars use an aftermarket k-member and coil over struts.
Stock 87-93 Mustang hood is required.
If you have a hatch model, you could dress the car out as a '88 Saleen and a Saleen cowl hood is allowed. (That's the only Fox Mustang allowed a cowl hood in SS/GT)

Just some ideas.
