Re: Erica & Greg?
Thats because people always think of new parts in the perspective of how they relate to older/current OEM designs when in fact, that is not what characterizes the part that comes forth. If it was developed/produced/machined or given an OEM part number, it becomes a part characterized by that particular OEM thus making it a GM/Ford/Mopar product. New designs and thinking in relation to parts that are produced should not be written off as aftermarket blah blah, but rather a part developed by an OEM as an OEM design. The fact that the OEM produced/designed/bought/machined the part makes it worthy of being called a GM or Mopar or Ford product. Everything developed by an OEM does not have to build off a design directly related to its' past or current products. The new thinking that produces these parts should be welcomed and attributed to the OEM that produced them. Just because it doesn't resemble past designs doesn't mean it can't be Mopar/GM/Ford, but rather maybe its a new idea being brought to the table instead. Sorry for the long rant but I wanted to share a different perspective on things and I know I will be in the minority here. Don't be me up too bad fellas
PS: The first thing my dad does when seeing a new part, is compare it or call it something that came about in the 1960 or 70's. Sometimes new parts are just that, newly reformed parts with no resemblance/similarity to past designs.
