Most situations the car spun or something happened so they bypass the scales altogether. DQ's the run.
If car is found light at scales, DQ's the run.
If fuel was contaminated say with water or mixed with another type fuel it will come up bad at the fuel check. The tech guys usually let the racer know they are on the verge of failing or they did fail. If fuel fails, it DQ's the run only.
Unless tech caught something else (and that is rare until racer has to go to teardown barn which is usually performance driven), YES they will be allowed to make all of their qualifying passes.
