Re: Wrapping a super stocker
As for "It doesn't look as good as paint." it depends on the design and the materials and application.
The Mega Maniac was totally wrapped and took Best Appearing Car at Mopar Nationals it's first year there.
Durability is surprisingly good, in my opinion. We got a few nicks on some black areas on bumpers, revealing the white paint underneath, and it covered easily with a small piece of black electrical tape.
Cost compared to a quality paint job is much lower. And you have the flexibility of changing it easily if you choose to do so.
Gator Wrap worked with us on the design, and then arranged for the installation 2000 miles away from them. It worked well for us.
A quality paint job is indeed a beautiful thing. We had an estimate of over $6000 for what we wanted. The wrap was about a third of that. And you can put money into the paint, or into making the car go faster...
It is a matter of choice. Either way, at the end of the day, you will probably be happy.
