Division 1 race Dutch Classic. The specs called for .004 above the bore. My pistons were .030 (or so) down the bore.
They told me if the specs called for above the bore it couldn't be below the bore. And I got tossed.
When I pressed for some logic. I was told that I could be building an advantage in piston to valve, by the lower deck height. I took the rule book and showed them that I could run 2 head gaskets of any thickness. And they told me that was different.
BTW the motor is a non interference motor. I could cut the timing belt and spin the motor with the starter and have no contact piston to valve.
That day I lost all respect for curt lashure.
