I am also building my first stocker and although I mostly run IHRA I decided against a crate motor car because I wanted the option to go run NHRA which I will probably do more of in the future. My suggestion is that you find a good car and buy it, I will be able to build my car a little cheaper I think but am doing it all myself except for the motor and several expert advisors down the street.
