As stated earlier, having a collector bouncing under car travelling down track is an additional concern.
It would also make sense to contact some of the header builders to establish a best practice for safely mounting collectors to headers.

I agree with the above
My own experience:
I had one complete collector come off at the hit of the throttle on the starting line. It went under my right rear slick and was shot out the rear. Fortunately it didn't puncture the tire or hit the starting line crew in the process. NOW every tube has a tab that is bolted together with lock washers and double nuts. All is well since then.
