This didn't have anything to do with class racing. But back in the seventies.
A certain street race car was supposed to race someone at West Hampton Long Island. Drag Strip. The deal was to go in the track first weigh the car then race.
The car was way lighter than they said so the guys took a NYC manhole cover and put it in the trunk. Then dumped it on the return road. So they could put it in after the race.
I went to that track in the 90's and the manhole cover was still there.
