I agree with the two posters above...make sure your paperwork is in order. I just imported a racecar (with title) from the US. I thought I had done everything properly but they gave me grief on the US side for not having proof of payment. Forgot that piece of evidence at home! They finally let me through justifying a notarized bill of sale and having the title transferred in my name would be sufficient proof of payment. As Doug says maybe it was my turn to have to "run through the hoops". Canadian clearing was a breeze, particularly since the car is over 15 years old and doesn't have to go through the RIV process. The Olds would fit in this category.
