We've been running our car in NHRA Comp eliminator for 3 seasons. It is powered by a 4G63 engine built by Mitsubishi engine that came in Plymouth Lasers, Eagle Talons and Mitsu Eclipses. They don't like the strict rules to follow and all the aggravation with it. They also like heads-up racing. They will not and most can not spend the money for a 3 day race and a lot of them don't have the time off either. I completely agree that we need to get them involved but don't know how. Most of the fast cars would never fit in a stock type class. As mentioned before they all put turbo's on them to race. They can race at local races and take home more money than any class out there now. Take Honda day at Atco. They have a 2 day race on a Sat and Sunday and turn people away at the gate. I'm willing to bet that not very many of the cars racing are bone stock.

My son raced his Eclipse in the Nopi series and the Sport compact NHRA races and had a great time. Unfortunately, neither one survived mostly because of lack of participation. I applaud any effort to get them involved and offer my help in any way.
