The very first sets of D-port BBC heads such as these were built with the old casting #. You had to call Vince Piggins at Chevy Product Promotion and he'd get you the heads (by way of Ernie Callard). I received four heads from Vince for my program way back when. They were still prone to rocker stud boss cracking and "loose" guides
. The same back door program applied to the first BBC Marine (Bow Tie) blocks too, although the blocks did have dedicated casting numbers if I recall correctly.
