With this logic, why would you ever weigh (or fuel check) unless they're just barely running the index? The absolute MOST important time to weigh is in a heads-up match, let alone in a final round, let alone at Indy.

Humans are imperfect and make mistakes. I've pulled weight out for Class before and came up light. It happens. People also drain fluids. Does everyone always remember to account for that weight?

There was a heads-up run at Darlington this weekend. One car was either at or 5-over min and the other was 20-25 over and lost by .00x. Weight could've made the difference.

Were both guys good? More than likely. We check because it is the rules, and things happen.
