The company probably expanded to quickly and incurred overwhelming debt they couldn't get out from under. This has happened to a lot of suppliers on the OEM side of the car business.
Now they want to get rid of those acquired companies to offload some of the debt and it also looks like to me they may be trying to sell the whole company to another party. Don't be surprised if they sell it lock, stock, and barrel and move the company out of the country.
