True, it was in the guide and me and my late friend John Heida had schemed various untried Ford combinations to run. We just wanted something fast (no Q/SA 74 Lincolns) and had to be a stickshift/ The Cobra with 260, 289 and 428 is listed in several years between 63 and 67 in the guide.

Of course Cobras are huge bucks so scratch that... that's until talking with the Kirkhams who seemed quite willing to help.
John was killed in a traffic accident and that put the kibosh on things or we might have done that a few years ago.
Unlike a Thunderbolt there are several combos to change to if the car gets hit in power to the point it's uncompetitive. 4 Webers on a 260 in a 2300lb car would be fun !!

Back then we were looking at A thru D stock with the various smallblocks or SS/A with a 428-390hp. Now with the double letter classes even the 427 could be run and the bigblock could run in Stock.
