Bo,
I can't hold back anymore. I don't understand what you are trying to do with this race. You took a great idea and turned it into a circus. I understand you are trying to draw in more cars but changing the ratings for the whiners is making your operation look like a joke. You originally stated there was no rules commitee and NHRA rules applied except for fuel check. What happened to that statement?
Here you were worried about me showing up and stealing the prize so you added 50 HP on me. Now you take off 20 HP from the COPO's. That's over a 500 lb. difference between 2 cars that have the exact same engine specs. When I was in Charlotte I had the COPO's covered by 2 tenths. Please explain why I get 50 HP added and they get 20 removed.
Another interesting twist is how the new rating for the COPO's puts them into A/SA with an 11.00 index. Let's take Connolly's 9.20 run from Charlotte for an example. His minimum was 3350. Now it would be 3570, slowing him about 2 tenths which would be 9.40's. That's 1.60 under in A/SA in Charlotte where the air was mediocre.
Then you change the 6.1 Hemi to 425 HP which also puts it into A/SA at 3570. I ran 9.45 at 3470 in CC/SA at Atco. You do the math.
Talk about buying your way into the finals. Why couldn't you just leave it alone and make it simple and say NHRA weights and indexes? Now it's a big mess. This is why NHRA is still the best show in town. It will never be fair in everyone's eyes, stop trying to play god.
