This is independent race no AHFS in effect.
When you can run more than 1.00 under why would you want to turn loose and give away what you have in reserve? If you have a 1.300 under car you just turned it into probaly a .75-.80 under car. I have friend that was .990 under when #1 w/same combo was 1.628 under made his car into .250-.350 combo and @ Bristol maybe not even make index.
Sure I would like to see everyone run all out all the time, but I don't see any reason for them to shoot their self in the foot.

I know why folks lift and protect their indexes and HP. I've seen it for 30 years. I just personally don't agree with it and think it should always be run all the way out. This is just my own opinion. If I wanted to see a car run slower than it actually could I'd be a fan of Super Comp, Super Gas or Super Street. If I was a zillionare I'd buy a new COPO, Cobra Jet, and Drag Pak car, bury the indexes, and then give them away to charity. Work on your stuff, make it fast ... if they add HP work harder to get it back or change classes. I don't think lifting should be part of racing unless it's at the stripe to not break out.
