Pat,

I think Crane or Comp made a conversion kit that was used to run a hydraulic roller cam in a Pre-hydraulic roller cam block. I am not sure it is even available anymore. I thought about trying that in my 83 to see if the 85 combo was worth it many years ago. Not sure if that would be a legal stocker deal though?
