I use a 50 Amp East Coast alternator I have one optima battery and I charge between rounds with a black and decker smart charger which the gentleman from East Coast Electric advise me was better than my large Schumacher as it Ramps down the charge as battery as the battery approaches fully charged.
Since I have started to follow his advice the battery lasts longer I got two years (it probably would go another year)out of the current one, where before I had to purchase a new one every year.
