Default Re: Early Carter AFB replacement

The 361/305 carb has a slightly smaller secondary than the more common 383, 413 or street wedge AFB. A 63 383 AFB I tested on my bench flowed 566 CFM, I think it was rated at 575. The 361/305 is the same size as the 318/260 AFB and is probably in the 500 to 525 range. These AFBs have no weights in the back but work quite well for their size. The way I read it, the 383 to 426/365 can run the replacement carb but not the 361, maybe nobody asked for it, cant hurt to try. If I wasn't neck deep in my 2 projects cars now I would be very interested in the 361/305 as this is the motor that started it all for me back in 71.
