Default Re: ideal oil tempreture for drag racing

The viscosity of oil is gonna be big factor in best temp.
About all my knowledge of this is on dyno w/20/50 at that weight between 190-210 is about best for HP below 190 or over 210 usaully see noticable difference. The trick on dyno is you can have those oil temps w/only 160-170 water.

I'm sure w/thinner oil you get away with lower temps than 190,if was doing some dyno testing you could find answer easy then.
I used to have oil temp gauge in my car, usaully ran real close to water temp160-170 like others have said it's hard to get hot oil and cool water @ same time
With 20wt.oil I would guess that 150-170 would be getting close to oil temp for best HP.
Dennis, plan on one of diapers soon keeping oil temp in is one thing I had thought it may help, don't really like to talk about thing they are made for,LOL
