The reason for the Head Gasket Recall was poor engineering, LS engines including the LS 7 only has a deck thickness of 100 mm which =s .394 thickness the head was bending which caused the failure. All Dart and World heads are at least 5/8 ths (.625)! The LX head is about the same as the production LS but gets the 2 extra head bolts. Hence the Recall on Heads for the S/C engine. Just look at a print of the Cylinder Heads.
