The Cobra Jet used is actually an SS car with the 4.0l supercharger but I think we did a good job of keeping the ETs close and building drama.
Kudos to Ron and his team for making the long trek to Florida! They originally wanted to shoot at Pomona but that did not allow time for licensing resulting in a Long haul for the Challenger. Setting the car up for the big wheel stand was a gutsy call that made for good tv.

Jesse that wheel stand was part of God's plan not ours - we did not touch the car and expected a normal 2 foot leave but Gainesvile weather had other ideas. The highlight reel footage was just an unexpected and added bonus for all concerned.
I had spoken to several people (including you) for a long time trying to arrange a match race but it took a TV show like Top Gear to "get-er-done".
We also spent a good amount of time with the production crew arranging the shoot - after I explained why Pomona would not work - we tried for Las Vegas but settled on Gainesville.
It worked out well - NHRA - the new factory race cars - and our kind of racing got some great exposure.
