Someone needs to tell the announcer for Stock that Allison and Stephen
Smyth's (Team Portatree) last name is pronounced with a soft "Y"...... like "Smith" not Smyyyyyyyyyth. Hope this is understood. He did the same thing when they raced at Englishtown N.J. It's tough to get coverage and exposure at a national event so getting the pronunciation correct is kind of important I would think. Not trying to hijack this thread. I didn't know who else to get it out there. Someone must know him and can let him know.
Thanks again Rob. Always look forward to your coverage.

Proper pronunciation is important,,, believe me, as an announcer I know this,,,HOWEVER,,, we're not always given the correct version of one's name, and we can't be running around all over to get it. I once had a racer named Shannon,, and for half a season, I referred to Shannon as "her" or "she",, until one day this burly guy comes up in the tower and says to me,, "Hey,,My name is Shannon!" I apologized to him, and wondered why nobody cared to educate me before that. Long story short, every time he came up to the starting line after that I referred to him as Mr. Shannon xxxxx. I even gave him a decal at the post season banquet saying "They Call Me Mister!" An announcer can only use the info given to him (or her), and sometimes the info on the screen in front of them is incorrect too.
Rob,,, great video again,,, and it was cool meeting you in Columbus,, take care.
