It seems to me that Ford has spent a tremendous sum of money(Milions???) on engines to make maybe 50-100 engines for the Mustang CJ per year if this engine is not used in a regular production vehicle --or are they taking an existing engine that is used in say a truck and adding superchargers and other performance goodies to come up with a CJ --same goes for GM??? Chrysler seems to have used the 5.7 HEMI and made variants of this engine for the Drag Paks-- Enlighten me please---thanx FED 387

The base platform engines and long blocks are used in production cars and trucks.
However, some items such as intakes, throttle bodies and some of the cylinder heads are unique.
