Gary Parker! You hit the nail on the head! The only catch is that if running stock class and you had to follow the rule book (and the big 3 had been "advised" to follow the rule book) all the special race ported factory heads would be illegal. All the "cross breeding" of rear ends, trans, etc. would not be accepted. In other words most of the cars causing this discussion wouldn't fit the class. Which is what caused all this discussion in the first place. I build these new "stock" engines. I knew from day one what they are capable of. And what a mess this was destined to become. I thank the big 3 for getting back into sportsman drag racing and I thank all my customers and friends for taking the opportunities to own these vehicles! It's just not Stock and in most cases it isn't SS. These also aren't the only under factored vehicles in Stock and SS. I understand the "protecting your combo" phrase that is thrown around a lot these days but if rules were enforced and ratings were somewhat close "protecting your combo" wouldn't even be in a racers vocabulary.
