Thumbs up Re: Myron Piatek Broke Down in Tenn.

Thank you for all the posts & calls. Don Dimeler from MD had the intuition to call track manager Jabbo at Holly Springs who knew someone who could help. Within an hour Tim Turner from Tupolo was there with his truck as well as a flatbed from Burrough's Wrecker. (Sorry, but I forgot the driver's name.) Meanwhile, Mike Whitaker from Raleigh calls and says he knows someone in the area who could help. I asked if it was Tim, he said yes, and I said he was already here! At the shop, everything was checked out and turned out to be only the fuel/lift pump, which I had a spare. But trying to change it with a flashlight in the middle of nowhere with traffic wizzing by didn't seem like a good option. I was afraid the injector pump could have been burned out as well. Anyway, I was back on the road by about 12:30-1:00 am., about 6 hours after breaking down. They treated me better than I ever would have imagined as far as billing me. The racing community is truly an extended family and I thank everyone involved as well as the many other callers who phoned me throughout the day.

As for the race, a first round finish line screw-up ended the weekend, but at least I was there.

Thank you very much.
