Default Re: Force gets beat--YAHOO

I am not a big Top Fool fan but I can relate a story about John Force being a top notch stand up guy.
I have a close friend who has has a Downs Syndrome daughter.
She has the capability of about a 12 to 13 year old and will never be any better.
My friend and I went to the Topeka National Event every year since the Topeka track opened in 1989 and took our kids and we both raced the event.
The friends daughter Leah loved John Force and would go and stand at the pit line to get his autograph every year. My kids would always go with her and keep up with her in the crowds. After a year or two John knew Leah by name and would then take her and my kids back into the hauler and give Leah a tee shirt or hat with his autograph. My kids usually received something less of which they were very happy. That happened for several years until sometime in the 1990's when John won Funny Car there. Leah had to go to the winners circle and watch John get his trophy. Once the pictures were taken John took the Medal off (when they still gave the medals on the big ribbons) and walked over to Leah and hung it around her neck.
Leah became even a bigger fan after that.
I also watched John do the same thing to a kid in a wheel chair a few years later.
I may not be a big Fan of John's racing but I am a fan of the Man for what he does for kids with disadvantages of all types.
He has my Respect.....
Just My 2 Cents
