Unless the rules have changed better check on this tho " if you are not running a fuel cell but still are using a "stock" gas tank you can use a gas tank shield located between the top of the tank and the trunk floor as an approved safety device-it is not considered disguised ballast!! Now don't go putting a 1 inch piece of plate steel but you can use either steel or aluminum plate to do this "thin" gauge like 1/4-3/8 inch depending on how much weight you need ---FED 387
