Default Re: NHRA regulates off track behavior.........

One interesting point...

I remember Georgia 400 getting built back in the 70's

Deliverance and Smokey and the Bandit were filmed in that area.
Burt Reynolds used a lot of that road before it was completed for his street racing themes in the Bandit series.

Street Outlaws, Fast and Furious, Bullet were all about competition and the baddest ***** cars and crazy souls going after it.

I get the feeling more people were watching Street Outlaws than were going to NHRA Meets.

I think Pro Stock has run its course and why Mountain Motor and other venues are run by the street guys.

Street Outlaws have a small tire and large tire cars racing.
Lot of that comes from the Radial Tire limitation races.

I think if you have the racers put on a venue advertise in national and local newspapers their followers will come.
Intrigue !! Mystery !!

NHRA and IHRA trying and run as many cars through in an hour as possible.

I remember the days of rosin prepped tracks.
The pace slowed down.
The build up. The smack talk. Offside betting.
Everyone was lined up to see those races.
Features that made PINKS exciting.

How many times you see the Fans line up to watch Pro Stock like that ?

Just saying
