Default Re: Sports compact racing lawsuit

Nhra blew it big time when they promoted the "pros" in the sport compact stuff. There is bracket racing and "pro" racing nothing in between where a racer (or ricer) can learn. There was a lot of interest in those go fast classes a few years ago. But the "pros" Chrysler and GM etc.came in with their big rigs and chased out the little giys. Think about what would happen if nhra sudenly enhanced us by "combining" stock and superstock with pro stock. How many of us would still be racing?
What nhra did with the sport compacts years ago might have been a trial run to see if they could enhance sportsman cars some more. They made the rules so they didn't have to check much of anything. first allowing alcohol, getting rid of the gas checking debacle. then just minimum weights run what you brung, no checking engine size etc.
If it would have worked I wonder how many of us would have had the resourses to run with Warren Johnson etc heads up with no breakout
I wish the import guys would have had classes like we do. They are not all morons some show quite a bit of ingenuity and racing sense. After all, think about how dumb wheelie bars seem on a FWD car, but they help traction a lot more than RWD bars do. The FWD cars aren't going to get airborn but the bars keep weight on the front wheels
