Yes the non use of proper gear didn't change the out come of the race, but ALL racers should conform to the rules or what good is the rule book. Especially for the safety gear/clothing part. I believe NHRA was founded for safe racing for all.

I agree. I just don't think this should be debated on the Internet where it won't do any good. Jim needs to point it out to Staff who watch the lanes so that it won't happen again. As far as safety goes, I've seen a roadster without a roll bar run at this track.That disturbed me.
Maybe a drivers meeting to bring this up? My Mustang is a bracket car built to GT/MA standards but I put a full cage in it. Double layer jacket, pants, gloves and shoes, too. SA 2010 helmet.
