jake the 72 is a good combo been running it for years in super stock with the 7f-6 h-o heads
as for 7500rpm no way you will drop the rods right out. my combination with roller cam and worked on heads max tourqe is around 5000 and peak hp is around 6300 with a stocker it will be lower for a convertor
i would go 3500-3800 stall gear around 410 maybee 4.30 nothing more remember use the tourqe i would say in a stocker keep the rpm around 6300-6500max top end
