Default Re: Rich Feldman-"Mr. Security"- R.I.P.

Another friend and racer gone . Rich was a very good friend of our family . Such good times and conversations we have had .We always called him, "Mr.Feldman.." I will never forget the year he busted our butt first round of the US Nationals . Rich laid down a killer pass, one we would all be proud of, and sent us packing .. But after he beat us , he came over to our pit spot, and said , "Jeff.. I am so sorry to beat you, I am truly sorry . I have tower passes that you can have , is there anything I can do ? I feel so bad" ... This went on for a while ... It is the only time in our racing career that anyone has sincerely apologized for doing what he came to do .... win. He was just truly a really nice, gentle man . No other words can describe him.....
As we drove out of the pits that day, my brother could not just resist....He looked over at me , and said, "Little brother, when you get back to work next week... you can tell all your co -workers, that you drove 9 hours to race over the holiday weekend, and was beaten in the first round of the biggest race of the year, by a little old man driving a full sized,1966, Chevy Impala, with a 283, and a stick shift ....
Rest in Peace old friend ... You will be missed .... John, Amy and Jeff ...
