Default Lowering Springs

I recently built a `79 Firebird with an aluminum headed big block Chevy and the front end still sits up a fair amount. There`s about 2 1/2 to 3" between the wheel opening and the top of the tire- 27" M/T front runners. I`m not fond of torching a partial coil out so I`m looking into new springs to drop it about 2". Any recommendations or ideas? Thanks in advance.
