Soooo, sanded with 180 wet/dry then 220 kept checking the fit, got it snug with about 1/8 left to go in, then kinda pressed it in rest of way. The pickup asm has a heavy tab on it that one of the pump bottom bolts goes thru, so used some Loctite on it, don't see the need to weld/braze. Took a while to fit it up though. but got it done.
