And while the Factory Stock classes are sort of a step in the right direction, most younger people that do decide to class race, and can afford to spend $100k plus on a racecar, are going to build something much quicker than an 8 second car, since even most of the slowest radial classes are quicker than that.
I'm 29, I'd agree with this. I've yet to meet anyone in my age group that has the desire to put 50k in a car to run 9's or have a desire to put 50k in a racecar period. One of them builds his own racecars and just started his own shop. I'm the only one that ultimately has the desire to race Super Stock, Comp etc.

Another problem is that the "cool cars" in Super Stock and Stock are 30 years old. That makes those cars rare and there no such thing as cheap with buying replacement parts for old cars. The other thing is that the newer cars that are relevant and are "cool" to run don't leave you with vary many options. Pretty much your stuck with racing a Camaro, Mustang, Challenger, Charger, Magnum, and maybe a few others for natural classes. It would be GT classes for any other car and most of those aren't even in the guide.

Regardless, at the end of the day, my age group is more concerned with going as fast as you can as cheaply as you can. Super Stock, Stock, and Comp are classes that simply don't allow that to happen. Outlaw Classes and Bracket Racing do however and that's where most of the generation is going with the added bonus of big money races being put on all over the country.
