It'll be by my first time attending this event. It's only about an hour drive and I always enjoy going to BG for the D3 race in late August.
This will also be the first drag race my son has ever attended. He's only 3 but like most boys, loves what his daddy loves. This past weekend he enjoyed watching a little D3 at Norwalk on youtube since it was being live streamed.
Does anybody know an est on the car count for TS, TD, and comp?
I noticed the field will allow 64 racers ......... but I just don't see how that large of a field could actually happen.
Correct me if I'm wrong for thinking this: But the low 6 sec cars (which D3 is well known for) typically wouldn't want to go up against the (possible) more consistent mid 7 sec cars. So many of the low 6 sec cars wouldn't want to show. Am I was off for thinking that?
I plan on arriving there Saturday around 10 and staying as long as he's having fun. I noticed there's quite a gap from 2pm to 4pm. If it's only 16 cars in SC, SG, and SST, is the SUPER ELIMINATOR SHOOTOUT really going to take 2 hours? Maybe b/c they plan on going through the entire bracket for each category? Give the winners enough time to refuel and check a few things before getting back in the staging lanes?
I only ask b/c I'm not sure how he's going to be by that time of the day and I need a game plan. Maybe I'll show him the pits until TD comes back to the lines. I KNOW he'll like TD b/c ..... well ......... they're loud ..... and he likes things loud ....... again ....... like his daddy, LOL.
So if you guys see a tall skinny dark haired 34 year old pushing a wide-eyed 3 year old in a stroller, feel free to make his day.
Because you racers may not know this, but to a 3 year old (and most young kids), you guys are super stars. He doesn't care if you're not a 'professional'. He'll just want to watch and meet you.
