R.I.P. to my father Gary Carr 12/17/48-7/14/16.

My father Gary passed away Thursday night in the Oakland PA V.A. hospital. He had a tumor that had grown quite a bit in the past few months, and the damage it had done internally led to basically the same thing that killed his father, septosemia; not sure how to spell it, so I am spelling it as it sounds. He passed away roughly around 10 pm Thursday night. Cancer is an ugly thing. But I can take solace in the fact that he is now at peace and pain-free.

Quite a few of you had the pleasure of meeting him; either when I used to race, or through our Tri-State Stock/Super Stock Association events. He's been going to the races, both locally and nationally, for forty-some years.

I want to thank everyone so much for the texts, Facebook posts, thoughts, prayers and condolences on losing my father. It really means a lot.

Funeral arrangements are as follows:
Monday, July 18, viewing/calling hours 4:00pm-8:00pm; services will follow.

I will never forget all the great times we had together. Way too many to list over the past thirty-plus years. He was my drag racing crew cheif; my best friend; and my father.

I love you/miss you immensly Dad, and will always love and miss you.
