Re: Pinks Slug Out
Two weekends that look pretty decent would be July 19-20, and Sept 13-14. As far as where, a location in the Midwest (Ohio in particular) would be a great draw to many of the good "slower" Stockers. I could talk to the people at Quaker City Raceway in Ohio about doing an event, possibly in conjunction with a traditional S/SS combo.
What I had proposed was an event run under Competition Eliminator-style rules. Handicapped off the Indexes, no breakout, CIC at (perhaps) -1.15 under, on a one-to-one ratio.
Eligible classes of cars would be Q-S-W/S; Q/SA-W/SA; AF/S-EF/S; SS/GS; and G/PS-I/PS, cars and trucks that are IHRA and NHRA Stock Eliminator-legal (excluding SS/GS).
Since Pinks had the "briliant" statement to the effect of "12.99 and quicker cars only. If it takes more than 13 seconds to get down the track, we don't want it". Nice. Not all us can afford to, or want to, build an 8-9-10 second car. A lot of us have fun with slower cars.
Any thoughts on any of the above ideas?
