His fifteen minutes of fame, etc. may be over but if sportsman racers get one more new fan what the hell have you got lose? How many of you racers have spent time cultivating fans? How the hell do you think you or NHRA/IHRA will ever gain more fans and spectators if you sit inside your same old box doing the same old ****? Come on. What got most of you younger racers into Stock/ Superstock? How many new racers came from sources other than your dad raced and you got hooked by being active with your dad or family? I'm damn near sixty and when I stared there wasn't much else to start out in like there is today. I've spent time with people who looked at my car and couldn't understand how it ran as quick as it did with so much OEM old school carb, intake, etc. Getting spectators engaged will gather new fans but racers have to get involved and promote.
