1st SS/ha in the 10's 1978 IHRA Winternationals.
Bill Felker built this 69 for us in 1975, in 78 J.D. repaint it and we got the 1st Gener-Coan turbo 400 trans brake trans from them.
We went to Gators 1st & broke stock axles 2 x's, Dempsey Hardy came over & ask what was going on.
He them said " bring it over to my shop & I'll get you Summer Bros axles & a spool"
So we did & went to the IHRA winternts In Darlington, went 10:98 @ 121 to set the record, but Felker was ther with his 68 & set the E.T. @ 10:96-119'
So we got the mph & he took the E.T., on tear down IHRA didn't like my motor so they had Bill come over & look at it. He told them it was O.k. , so we passed, but then he saw what we had done.
