Default Re: Over lenth m/h and trailer towing, questions

A friend of mine took his companies 40 Freight-liner Motor-home and 30' foot tag stacker trailer from Florida to Calif and then to Lake George, New York and back without any problems with being to long. It's registered as a motor-home here in Florida.

The trailer even had the company logo on the complete side of the stacker trailer which I thought made it a commercial truck which would need a driver with a CDL license!!!!

He did not have a CDL license and we had a long talk before he left about the 65' rule and his boss said to him just take the company credit card in case you have a problem which he did.

I find it weird because of guys I know have gotten pulled over and fined so why some people manage to do it without getting fined is beyond me.

Maybe when they are busy with semi's they over look other trailers.
