Well, it appears that link no longer works. It was a Winternationals pre-entry list, showing that Lindy claimed a Pontiac 400 engine.

The Class Racer Info site lists that 400 Formula weight @ 3564, with an hp factor of 275. I calculate that to be a 12.96 weigh/hp ratio. So, if I understand the rules correctly(that you can run your natural class or go up or down 1 class, by adding or removing weight), that combo can run I/SA, J/SA, or K/SA.

Looks like 12.50 x 275 = 3438lbs would be the min weight for J/SA. And 13.00 x 275 = 3575lbs would be the min for K/SA. But he's running I/SA, so he weighs less than 3438, according to my math.

By adding weight, I think he could run a D-port 455 in I/SA. hp factor is 306. Weight is 3572. 12 x 306 = 3672. So, looks like it would make I/SA by adding 100lbs.

But, I'm certainly no expert. So, if some of you guys who don't mind, if my calculations, or any of this info, is wrong, please correct it. Since I'm not savvy to all the rules, I'd like to know the details of how to figure all this correctly. Thanks !

Would assume he's running a TH200. But could be a light TH350, I reckin. Don't know.

You forgot to add the 170 pounds for the driver weight.................
I/SA = 3470 pounds
J/SA = 3607 pounds
K/SA = 3745 pounds
