Re: Suggestion for New Pure Stockers
I see that NHRA has set up a new Class Requirements they call Pure Stock.
Designed to help track requirements for the new super cars that go quicker than 11.50 ET.
By passing the need for a mandatory Roll Bar.
The new cars have a much better frame.
Some come have a Built in Roll Bar to meet sport car and autocross track requirements.
This is one of the conversations that has to be resolved.
A/PS minimum is 12.05 a full second under is 11.05 sec.
Well set up car in Mineshaft conditions could get a car well below that.
I can see inviting some turbo and supercharged smaller engines.
Most aspirated cars could fit below the current 11.50 et.
Again how do you fit these cars in?
Most likely approve a few at a time.
Select a couple each Ford, Chrysler and GM and grow from there.
Again would need serious support from these car makers to give up specs and collaborate with IHRA.
This is where we need help on who to contact.
Maybe get NMCA to help a bit to expand their race series.
BTW who would be that person at NMCA?
