Re: Base line setup for 8.90’s
There are so many little things that can go into a good throttle stop set up. And every car will be just a little different.
My wife's super comp car is lighter than most suspended cars, and also seems to react and launch more aggressively than most. So our set up is softer than most.
Suspended 235", 1070 HP, 1050 APD Max Speed carb
Timer 1- .01
Shift - .15
Timer 2- 2.50-2.75
Roll RPM 4000
Something else very important, that I rarely hear mentioned when talking about throttle stop set ups is opening and closing speeds of the stop. I have found the closing speed to be very critical for several reasons. If it closes to slow, you will have a very fast 60', which can be a little mph loss as well as it puts you out in front of the race to much. But more importantly, if it closes to fast, you will see a dip in the rpm on the stop.
